musicality and grounded spirituality

Ann's ability to intuitively grasp the tone of an event and to richly express its purpose through resource materials and ritual make her a  valuable partner in planning and coordinating spiritual events and retreats. Well organized and attentive to every detail, she's also creative and spontaneous, attuned to the teachable moment and the potential for transformation in real time. Her musicality and grounded spirituality are gifts that enhance gatherings, bringing even the most reluctant participants into the circle.

NEW in 2019: Soul Gathering
Ann Strickland and Astrid Pujari MDwill lead a new community adventure: Soul Gathering—a space for non-denominational spiritual exploration through the shared experiences of storytelling, singing, contemplative and meditative practices, and community service to remind us of a compassionate intelligence within, between and around us. We will meet monthly in Seattle.

Ann Strickland is a musician who leads music in intergenerational spiritual communities, notably for over 20 years as Music and Arts Director at Grace Episcopal Church on Bainbridge Island.

Ann has extensive experience facilitating spiritual retreats and developing curriculum to support people as they explore their own deep inner wisdom. She is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer, and music teacher. Ann is also a yoga teacher, specializing in musical mantra meditation practices. Her recordings are available on Bandcamp and iTunes under the name Island Kirtan.

Ann is the founder and director of the One Heart Singers, a community choir on Bainbridge Island and is also the co-founder of 3 non-profit organizations. She is currently president of Give to Heal, an organization devoted to helping women who have experienced trauma gain access to holistic wellness care . Ann is also the co-managing director of Soul Gathering, a new spiritual community in Seattle.
